Dated June 8, 2015, a press release from the post-Boudinot SCL reads “Seattle City of Literature Announces New Advisory Board, Strengthens Organization,” and goes on to discuss
a restructured Board of Directors, including veterans of non-profits and arts organizations…. [Ryan Boudinot] is stepping down from the Board of Directors, having relinquished his Executive Director position earlier this year.
Boudinot’s first Board of Directors quit en masse after Boudinot’s remarks about ex-students and child-abuse victims, as reported at Seattlish.
Later, Boudinot’s friend and Stranger editor Christopher Frizzell took to the pages of his own newspaper to publicly chide and ridicule the board, saying
His six board members should have thanked [Boudinot] for what he did, and then they should have gone off and fundraised around his efforts and his visibility. Instead they scolded him and quit.
According to SLC, in the time since Boudinot’s departure, they have raised over $10,000 in cash and pledges.
